Bamboo Fashion

by Jasmine Greene

While the Chinese have been using bamboo for years as hats and shoes, bamboo has come a long way in terms of entering the fashion world. Famous fashion designers are using bamboo to make some beautiful attire, and if the clothes are created by a mechanical process, they will also be sustainable as well. Of course, you don't need to process the bamboo heavily to create beautiful additions to your wardrobe.

Bamboo Watch

Ok, so while the band itself is made of leather, the main watch part is made from completely fair-trade and eco-friendly bamboo. If you're some one that wants a precise time, this watch might not be for you, but come on, let go a little. Knowing about what time is just as good. Plus, this watch is unique enough yet also strikingly simple that you can wear it for any occasion.

Bamboo Zouri

Sure, it might not be sandal weather now, but the great thing about these traditional Japanese sandals is that you can also wear them around the house. Handmade in Japan, these sandals are infinitely comfortable and won't give you those toe blisters that a lot of other flip-flops will. The cloth straps keep your precious toe skin from rubbing and the flower patterns are small enough that men and women can feel comfortable wearing these comfy sandals.

Bamboo Ring

While technically these are wedding bands, it's simple enough that you could get away with wearing it as a regular ring. Made from 100% reclaimed wood, this ring is made of bamboo and inlaid with Hawaiian Koa bands. Bamboos are a symbol for longevity, friendship and serenity. If you're getting married, what better way to express your love than with this ring.

Bamboo Sunglasses

Looking for something chic but also eco-friendly? Look no further. These shades take the oversized lenses and frames it with lovely bamboo. Hey, you may be wearing the same big lenses, but goddamn if people still won't be checking your sunglasses out. Stylish, elegant and fun, you can practically wear this with any outfit and always look your best.

Bali 5-in-1 Dress

Buy one dress and get five instead. Need to go to a fancy soiree, simply adjust the dress accordingly. Going out to a club, this dress has you covered. Need a cute skirt, done. You can check out the different ways you can arrange this dress to fit your needs, but the bottom line is that you will always look and feel beautiful. Adjustable for almost every body type and super soft, you can easily transition from work to a fancy cocktail party in minutes without even going home.

Raw Bags Bamboo Wallet

While calling this a wallet might be a misnomer, you can certainly use it as a small clutch. The exterior is made of bamboo sticks with a canvas lining on the inside, and is a bit reminiscent of venetian blinds. Still, the dark color of the wood as well as the fact that the wallet is made up of several different lines of bamboo really give this wallet/clutch an interesting effect. A little too classy for normal use perhaps, but definitely great for a date with an environmentalist, or well, anyone. Although we think it might be cooler if it actually opened all the way down, like a real venetian blind.
